Curfew In Adamawa Is Unlawful - APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has directed its members and supporters in Adamawa state to defy the curfew imposed by the state police command and come out to exercise their rights today. In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday by its national publicity secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and obtained by paradigm.com, the party described the curfew as unlawful and said there was no threat to security in the state to warrant the imposition of a curfew. It said the presidential and National Assembly elections were held without incident or declaration of a curfew, and wondered what warranted the unlawful curfew declaration. Yesterday, Mohammed said that President Goodluck Jonathan visited Lagos to coordinate ways of rigging the election in favour of Jimi Agbaje, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), candidate. Reacting to the statement, the spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Presidential campaign organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode assured Nigerians yesterday that President Goodluck Jonathan was still committed to conducting free, fair and credible elections throughout the country today. Meanwhile, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released a statement criticising the warning issued by the Oba of Lagos to all Igbos in the state.
